Chet Scheltema Senior Counsel
Chet Scheltema has practiced law and consulted in the U.S., China and Southeast Asia. He practiced law in U.S. firms and as an in-house attorney prior to relocating to Asia Pacific, where he spent much of the past decade.
Chet now resides in San Diego, California, although he regularly travels to and from the Asia Pacific region.
Chet advises on cross-border M&A, due diligence, structuring multi-jurisdictional investments and U.S. and Chinese business matters. He regularly provides business transactional support and prepares and negotiates a range of business legal contracts.
Previously, Chet was the managing director of a business and investment consulting firm in Shanghai and director of operations at a Chinese multinational in Beijing. He led engagements with numerous U.S. and European companies, investing and making acquisitions in China and Southeast Asia.
Chet graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law (JD) and Judge Business School (MBA) at Cambridge University. He is a member of the California and District of Columbia bars and is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI).
